![]() The patch isn't live for PS4 or XB1 yet, but will probably drop in a week or two. Here is a video from a player illustrating the new AI in action on the Nurburgring (AI set to 85% for both skill and aggression): Author : Chris Larson Im just a nerd that likes to drift a 1991 Mazda Miata, play videogames (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo), and watch Anime. When trying it out for one race however, I found my car to be much stable in the corners. Feel free to post what controller settings work best for you in the comments and look for my review on Project CARS 2 tomorrow after I get some time with the Day One patch. Personally, I have left it off because I'm used to my gamepad settings that served me well for the past few months. This does not mean it's impossible to spin out now, you can still get caught out by a loose car. Trying to catch an oversteering car with a gamepad may result in an overreaction as it might not be possible to make fine adjustments to the steering input with a gamepad or keyboard. ![]() It helps in catching a car that may be breaking loose. ![]() The assist is tailored for gamepad or kb/m users. The second notable change in the patch is the addition of a new "Opposite Lock Assist" option. Strangely enough, racing with a controller does actually feel a bit more authentic to the game’s sim racing, it’s just that it’s particularly raw. 100% would see a bit of the "rubbing is racing" seen in touring car racing. The aggression setting now seems to affect how often the AI would attempt bold overtaking manoeuvrers. They are also respectful of presence and adjusts their positioning accordingly. However now the AI actually races with you and with eachother. The most notable of this however is a massive change to AI opponents, before the AI would be too timid to try and overtake or just ignore your presence altogether. The second major patch for the racing sim Project Cars 2 dropped recently on PC and it addresses these two concerns among other bug fixes and quality of life changes. Two of the biggest complaints I hear about Project Cars 2 is the poor AI and the bad gamepad controls.
